The Province of Potenza is one of the two province of the Basilicata with one population of 387.195 inhabitants; the provincial territory extends on an area of 6.587,74 kmq, with one demographic density of 59 ab./kmq.
The Unity for Environment of the province of Potenza is structured ad below:
Organization Unity n. 1
  1. Management of the controls and authorisations for the atmosphere emissions (L.R. 7/99)
  2. Management and control of the heat systems and management of provincial competences in energy matter (L.R. 7/99)
  3. Environment Education, promotional and information about Environment
  4. Administrative contentious jurisdiction
Organization Unity 2:
  1. Programme and Planning of waste materials
  2. Authorisation, Administrative control of the management of waste materials
  3. Authorisation and administrative control for water waste

Main Role in the project

General Management activities, Coordination of the common dissemination activities and implementation of vertical activities in its own territory.

Other Information

For the management activities, the Province of Potenza will be supported by Tecla Association.

Founded in 1993, Tecla is an association of Italian Provinces which operates as technical support structure of the Italian local authorities for the development of territorial systems and their resources, both in terms of European policies and in terms of legislative, planning and financial tools.
Over the years, TECLA has supplied technical assistance to a large number of local authorities for the formulation and management of projects funded by the EU. It has thus acquired a large experience and it owns the expertise needed to manage complex transnational projects and all transversal activities related to it.

The Province of Potenza is associated to Tecla and intends to take advantage of its expertise and know how to fulfil some specific tasks related to the management.
