The Province of Palermo covers 4.992,23 square km and it counts 1.236.799 inhabitants, becoming the widest and most populated province of Sicily.

The Province has the city of Palermo as its capital and it is made up of 82 municipalities, including the volcanic island of Ustica.

Main Role in Consortium

Coordination role in the monitoring and assessment activities and in the communication and dissemination activities. Implementation of vertical activities in its own territory.

For the management activities, the Province of Potenza will be supported by Tecla Association.

Founded in 1993, Tecla is an association of Italian Provinces which operates as technical support structure of the Italian local authorities for the development of territorial systems and their resources, both in terms of European policies and in terms of legislative, planning and financial tools.
Over the years, TECLA has supplied technical assistance to a large number of local authorities for the formulation and management of projects funded by the EU. It has thus acquired a large experience and it owns the expertise needed to manage complex transnational projects and all transversal activities related to it.

The Province of Potenza is associated to Tecla and intends to take advantage of its expertise and know how to fulfil some specific tasks related to the management.
