Energy Solutions is a SAVE Agency, set up in 1999 (originally as Brent Energy Network) by the London Borough of Brent with funding from the SAVE II programme and in partnership with Roma Energia in Italy. Its role is to promote the sustainable use of energy in buildings, industry and transport in Brent and surrounding North West London. As a registered charity and not-for-profit organization the agency seeks to provide free, up to date advice to Brent residents, businesses and public institutions such as schools.

Key to Energy Solutions’ operations is a belief that through its work North West London can make the transition to a low carbon, renewable future fully prepared for the possible impacts of climate change.The agency’s operations are split between implementing Europe-wide based initiatives and offering a unique service to residents and businesses that provides specific advice and guidance on a one to one basis.

The former element includes participation in Intelligent Energy Europe projects BIODIENET, ECO ACTION, and BIOSIRE in addition to its role within the EDUCA RUE project. The latter has enable householders and small/medium sized business to reduce their energy spending and consumption and assist the vulnerable living in fuel poverty and unable to afford adequate heating and power provision.  

Energy Solutions’ main role within the EDUCA RUE project is as National Coordinator for the participating English partners. In addition to the duties it shares with all its partner organisations it will conduct an analysis of current implementation of the EPBD nationally and explore the barriers that are hindering more successful implementation. In addition it is responsible for the creation of publicity and communication materials that will be used within a UK context to promote initiatives developed to enhance EPBD fulfilment.
